These are summer science programs for outstanding 11th ? 12th grade students interested in science and mathematics are open to students residing in Alabama or Georgia. The week long, residential programs partners students with experienced AU Science and Math and VCOM faculty and to explore topics more advanced than what is typically taught in a public or private high school environment. Students will be dropped off by their parents on Sunday and picked up Saturday, when they will attend a concluding ceremony in Student Center 2222/23 or at VCOM's multipurpose room (MPR). Throughout the week, students will participate in 1-3 hour science and math modules led by COSAM and VCOM faculty, supervised by additional staff. Breakfast and lunch will be eaten in the student center, and dinner will be provided by bringing in food from local restaurants. Evening activities like a scavenger hunt or movie night will occur. Students will be led by AU chaperones/camp counselors (graduate students at AU).
