The Sport Biomechanics Lab in the School of Kinesiology is hosting a workshop, "Wearable Sensor for Athletic Performance," on Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 10-11 a.m. in room 20 of the Kinesiology Building. Atteendess will learn more about wearable sensor motion capture technology used by professional sports athletes in leagues like the NBA, NFL, and MLB, and in movies and video games like Call of Duty. In this workshop, attendees will also see how researchers in the lab prep and run the system during sport movements like jumping. There will be an opportunity for attendees to volunteer to wear the device and see their own virtual avatar performing the movement. For students who are interested in entering the field of sports sciences, a letter of attendance can be provided that showcases familiarity with the technology.
