About this Event
The Auburn University Memorial Day Observance will be held on Cater Lawn as a formal ceremony followed by a guided Field of Honor installation.
The event will begin with a traditional ceremony, including the presentation of colors, invocation, National Anthem, remarks, wreath laying, and Taps. The ceremony is structured to maintain a respectful and disciplined tone throughout.
Following the formal program, attendees will be invited to participate in the Field of Honor. Guests will move to designated flag placement stations staffed by ASVA and VETNET volunteers, where they will receive a flag and be directed to a section of the lawn representing a specific conflict in U.S. military history.
Each section will be clearly marked and pre-established with a structured layout of flags. Participants will place their flags by extending these rows, allowing the field to grow in a controlled and intentional manner.
Once participants have placed their flags, they will be invited to Foy Commons for food and fellowship. The Field of Honor will remain in place on Cater Lawn following the event,
