Journalism Day, or J-Day, is a bi-annual event that connects Auburn students with industry professionals and alumni.
C.J. Holmes ’16 will deliver the keynote speech. Holmes, a School of Communication and Journalism graduate and former Auburn basketball player, currently reports on the Golden State Warriors for The San Francisco Chronicle. Holmes joined The San Francisco Chronicle after four years at the Athletic, where he covered several collegiate and professional teams.
Panels will include guests from USA Today, AL.com, Gray Television and War Eagle Productions. Topics will range from “Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Women in Journalism” to “Fiber and Football: Ins and outs of producing Jordan-Hare Stadium videoboard shows.”
J-Day will provide valuable guidance and networking for students searching for internship and post-graduate opportunities or those looking to hear from journalism professionals. All students interested are invited to attend regardless of class rank or major and learn from experienced industry professionals.
