About this Event
The Block and Bridle Livestock Judging Contest is a vital event for both youth participants and Block and Bridle members. This contest serves as a practice in preparation for the two major livestock judging events in the state for Alabama 4H and FFA, which is a career and technical student organization that provides middle and high school classes and extracurricular activities that support and promote agricultural education, members such as the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and 4H State Contest.
Each contestant will evaluate and rank four animals, which constitute one class. The number of classes per species is flexible, but typically 2-3 classes of cattle, 2 classes of
hogs, 1-2 classes of sheep, 1-2 classes of goats.
