In addition to an Elementary Science Olympiad Regional, Auburn also hosts the Alabama State Science Olympiad Competition for middle and high school teams. Teams advance from four other regional competitions from across Alabama and then compete in 23 different events on topics such as anatomy and physiology, meteorology and rocks and minerals. Auburn then sends one team from both the middle school and high school competition to the National Science Olympiad Competition which will be at University of Nebraska in 2025.
